12 Year Old Musical Prodigy
This story is amazing, and so is the young composer and his music, but I think the most beautiful aspect of it is the strange somewhat-proof it offers that music isn’t just something we have invented as some kind of creative artifice, but is instead so vital to our culture or even our fundamental humanness that the most complex melodies and harmonies can spring, fully formed, into the mind of a child with little-to-no experience of its vast history and theoretical mechanics. I find that heartening, to say the least.
